Who Am I?

My name is Michael Dodsworth. I am a graphic artist, web designer and webmaster. I first started in multimedia and graphics in early 1990 and 1991. When the web started in the early 90's, I had the rare opportunity to learn and experience this new opportunity that jumped into the scene. During this time period I spent 8 years with the US Postal Service as a consultant. I wore multiple hats doing multimedia, html and developing applications for the web. The language was young at that point, but like everything in life you had to push yourself to stay on top and learn something new. Here we are today. The web is advanced and constantly growing. Like the past, you have to stay on top of the technology to stay in the business. And today, nothing has really changed but technology just continues to get more advanced.

In graphics, I am an expert in Photoshop and the entire Adobe suite. When I design a website, I take your ideas and mine and come up with a concept that works for you. I also work with the entire Macromedia suite for improved graphic styles and compression utilities.

In print, I used to use Quark but now I concentrate on Adobe InDesign. If your print project requires any other media, I can work in that too.

In multimedia, I am proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Affects. I also have iFinish by Media 100 for larger projects that require a little more power. For smaller web media projects, I use flash and integrate media into flash for web use.

In the HTML world I am like everyone else I am self taught and do teach others on occasion. Web Design not only involves graphics but layout. In layout of your page comes html. Without HTML as the base, we could not communicate. HTML is the language that started the web and gave us the ability to communicate with others through this vast network of IP addresses called the internet. Like everyone else in the industry, I do stay in touch and educated in the new aspects and trends of html and new trends in the language.
